Amlin Bermuda

Rob Wyatt, Leading Class Underwriter of Property D&F for Amlin’s Syndicate 2001, has transferred to Amlin Bermuda, where he works alongside Underwriting Director John Andrews. It is planned that Mr. Wyatt will take over as Underwriting Director in advance of the 2009 underwriting year. He has experience of underwriting both excess of loss and D&F property risks and it is likely that over time, Amlin Bermuda will write facultative property in addition to the excess of loss and pro-rata reinsurance business currently underwritten.

Aon Insurance Managers (Bermuda) Ltd. has appointed two new Vice Presidents. David Hogg has joined the company as Vice President – Client Services. He moved to Bermuda from Guernsey where he worked for Marsh Management Services for several years, most recently as a Vice President and Senior Insurance Manager. Susan Lane has joined the company as Vice President – Business Development. Before joining Aon, she was Vice President at Artex Risk Solutions (Bermuda) Ltd.


Aspen Insurance Holdings Limited

Julian Cusack

Aspen Insurance Holdings Limited has promoted Julian Cusack to the role of Chief Operating Officer. His new role will include responsibility for Aspen’s Actuarial, Risk Management, Compliance and Legal departments. He will also continue as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Aspen Insurance Limited and continue to chair Aspen’s Reserving Committee. Richard Houghton, Chief Financial Officer, will assume additional responsibilities for operational oversight of Aspen’s Human Resources, Information Technology and Insurance/ Reinsurance Claims departments.


Allied World Assurance Company
Anthony Kashuba has joined Allied World Assurance Company in Bermuda as Vice President of General Casualty. He has 17 years of global insurance and reinsurance experience, most recently with Arch Insurance in Bermuda. Anthony has worked in various underwriting capacities in the United States, Hong Kong, Germany and Bermuda. His underwriting experience includes primary casualty insurance including loss sensitive programs, facultative reinsurance and excess casualty insurance.

Montpelier Re Holdings Ltd.

Christopher L. Harris

Montpelier Re Holdings Ltd. has named Christopher L. Harris to be Chief Executive Officer, effective July 1, 2008. Mr. Harris joined Montpelier in 2002, shortly after the company’s formation, as Chief Actuary and was later named Chief Underwriting and Risk Officer in 2006, and President, effective January 1, 2008. He will succeed Anthony Taylor who is to assume the role of Executive Chairman until December 2009.


Montpelier Re Holdings Ltd.

Separately, Montpelier Re Holdings Ltd. has appointed Michael S. Paquette as Chief Financial Officer and an Executive Vice President of the Company. Mr. Paquette joined Montpelier in May 2007 as Group Controller, after 18 years with White Mountains Insurance Group, Ltd. in a variety of capacities, including Controller. Kernan V. (Kip) Oberting, who served as Chief Financial Officer of Montpelier since October 2004, has left the company, but will continue to provide Montpelier with corporate finance, asset allocation and investment advisory services until 2010.

Towers Perrin has appointed Guy Hengesbaugh as Managing Principal of its Bermuda Reinsurance operation. He will coordinate Towers Perrin’s client-focused efforts within the Bermuda market, including facilitating placement of business and offering risk financing guidance. Prior to joining Towers Perrin, Mr. Hengesbaugh was most recently President and Chief Executive Officer of Forterra Guarantee Limited, a collateralized reinsurance vehicle for non-insurance investors in Bermuda. Previously, he had been President of PXRE Reinsurance Ltd. and President and CEO of LaSalle Re Ltd. Guy succeeds Phillip Pettersen who is retiring from Towers Perrin to return to South Africa.


White Mountains Re, Ltd

Warren Trace

White Mountains Re, Ltd., the reinsurance unit of the White Mountains Insurance Group, Ltd., has named Dwight Evans President and Chief Executive Officer of Folksamerica Re, effective immediately. Warren Trace has succeeded him as president of White Mountains Re’s Bermuda-based reinsurance operations.


XL Capital Ltd

Michael S. McGavick

XL Capital Ltd has named Michael S. McGavick as its next Chief Executive Officer, succeeding Brian M. O’Hara, who held the position for the last 13 years. To provide continuity during the transition, Mr. O’Hara, who is currently serving as Acting Chairman of XL’s Board of Directors, will serve as Chairman during the final year of his current term on the Board, which expires in April 2009. Mr. McGavick was President and Chief Executive Officer of Safeco Corporation from January 2001 to December 2005. Most recently, he ran for a seat in the U.S. Senate in the State of Washington.


XL Capital Ltd

John Glancy

Separately, XL Insurance named John Glancy as chief underwriting officer. Formerly chief operating officer of XL Insurance’s global professional operations unit, Mr. Glancy joined XL Insurance, the global insurance arm of Bermuda-based XL Capital Ltd, in 2003. Based in XL’s Hamilton office, Mr. Glancy will be responsible for product management, risk management, ceded reinsurance, product development, strategic analysis, and overall underwriting governance.


XL Insurance (Bermuda) Ltd

Mark Peeters has been appointed as XL Insurance (Bermuda) Ltd’s Chief Underwriting Officer of its professional lines business. Mr. Peeters assumed his new position effective January 1, 2008, and is responsible for overseeing XL Bermuda’s second-largest portfolio of business and a team of 14 people. The Board of Lancashire Holding Limited has appointed John Bishop as a nonexecutive director. Mr. Bishop is an actuary with extensive insurance industry experience. He is currently a director of Berkshire Hathaway International, Houston Capital Corporation Underwriting Agency and CET Group and was previously Chairman and CEO of Eagle Star Insurance Company.

Steven H. Newman, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Platinum Underwriters Holdings, Ltd. since 2002, will retire from the Board at the end of his current term and continue to serve as a consultant until 2010. The Board has appointed Dan R. Carmichael as Non-Executive Chairman. He had served as the Presiding Independent Director, Chairman of the Governance Committee and a member of the Audit Committee since 2002.


RAM Holdings Ltd.

The Board of Directors of RAM Holdings Ltd. has appointed Michael J. Normile and Bradley M. Shuster to fill vacancies on the Board, arising from the resignations of Victor J. Bacigalupi and Mark F. Milner. Mr. Normile is a former Managing Director, Fixed Income Capital Markets and Head of Structured Finance, Americas for HSBC Securities, Inc. Mr. Shuster is President and Chief Executive Officer of PMI Capital Corporation, which manages the international and financial guaranty segments of The PMI Group, Inc.


RenaissanceRe Holdings Ltd.

The Board of RenaissanceRe Holdings Ltd. has nominated three new Directors: David C. Bushnell, former Chief Administrative Officer and Senior Risk Officer of Citigroup Inc., James L. Gibbons, President and Chief Executive Officer of Bermuda financial services organisation Capital G Limited, and Anthony M. Santomero, former President of the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia.
