Endurance Specialty Holdings Ltd.
Thomas D. Bell Thomas D. Bell is retiring from his position as Executive Vice President of Compliance of Endurance Specialty Holdings Ltd. He joined Endurance in December 2001 as one of the founding members of the company and, during his time with Endurance, served in a number of key roles including Executive Vice President of Reinsurance Operations and President of Endurance Specialty Insurance Ltd. His current responsibilities will be assumed by other members of Endurance’s executive team. Hiscox BermudaCharles Dupplin, currently Chairman of Hiscox’s Art and Private Client division and Director of Mergers and Acquisitions, will succeed Rob Childs as Chief Executive of Hiscox Bermuda. He will retain his responsibilities as Director of Mergers and Acquisitions for the Group. Mr. Childs will return to the UK. He will continue in his roles as Group Director of Underwriting and Chairman of Hiscox USA and serve as an internal non-executive of Hiscox Bermuda. Robert Read will assume overall responsibility for Art and Private Client underwriting. Ironshore Bermuda
Mitch Blaser Mitch Blaser has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of Ironshore Bermuda. He has been with Ironshore since the company’s launch in January 2007, having been a member of the management team that formed Ironshore in late 2006. Mr. Blaser will continue to serve in his capacity as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer of Ironshore’s Global Operations. Bob Deutsch has stepped down from his role as President of Ironshore. His role has been assumed by Shaun Kelly, who had been Chief Executive Officer of the company’s US operations. Tony Bibbings Tony Bibbings has joined Artex Intermediaries as Senior Vice President effective April 6th. Mr. Bibbings was most recently Managing Director of Beecher Carlson (Bermuda) and has extensive Alternative Risk and broking experience. Mr. Bibbings is a Canadian Chartered Accountant and will oversee a Wholesale Casualty Brokerage team for Artex (Bermuda). CTC Allegro Insurance & Risk Management
Graham Lamb CTC Allegro Insurance & Risk Management has appointed Graham Lamb as a director and Senior Vice President, Client Financial Services, with effect from January 2009. Mr. Lamb previously worked as Director of Operations for Strategic Risk Solutions (Bermuda) and Assistant Vice President at Aon Insurance Managers (Bermuda). CTC Allegro is part of the Charles Taylor Consulting group which has insurance management operations in Bermuda, Dublin, Isle of Man and some onshore US domiciles. Mr. Lamb has more than 10 years experience in managing insurance and reinsurance companies in Bermuda, having previously worked for audit firms Coopers & Lybrand and KPMG. American Safety Insurance Holdings, Ltd.American Safety Insurance Holdings, Ltd. has reported that William C. Tepe, the Company’s Chief Financial Officer, resigned to pursue other interests. The resignation is effective immediately. President and Chief Executive Officer Stephen R. Crim said that the company has already begun a search for a new CFO in order to fill the position on a permanent basis as quickly as possible. RenaissanceRe Holdings Ltd.
Neill A. Currie
Ian D. Branagan RenaissanceRe Holdings Ltd. has extended its employment agreement with President, Chief Executive Officer and Director Neill A. Currie until February 22, 2014. Mr. Currie’s prior employment agreement had been scheduled to expire on February 22, 2010, subject to automatic renewals for one-year terms. Mr. Currie, a co-founder of RenaissanceRe, has served as Chief Executive Officer since November 2005. He remains on the Company’s Board of Directors. Senior Vice President Ian D. Branagan has been promoted to the position of Chief Risk Officer of RenaissanceRe Holdings Ltd. and been appointed to the company’s Executive Management Committee. Todd Fonner, whom Mr. Branagan succeeded as Chief Risk Officer, will focus on his responsibilities as Chief Investment Officer and as a member of the company’s Executive Committee. Mr. Branagan will be responsible for oversight and management of enterprise-wide risk management practices at RenaissanceRe. He joined RenaissanceRe in 1998 to open the company’s Dublin office, later relocating to Bermuda with additional responsibilities for underwriting risk and modelling across RenaissanceRe’s insurance and reinsurance operations. He has served as the Head of Group Risk Modelling since 2005. Torus Insurance (Holdings) Ltd.
John J. Williams John J. Williams has been appointed as Global Head of Business Operations for Torus Insurance (Holdings) Ltd. He will be responsible for business architecture, management and execution of workflow processes including Torus’ offshore operations in India. XL Insurance (Bermuda) Ltd.XL Insurance (Bermuda) Ltd. (XLIB) has promoted James Loder to the role of chief underwriting officer for its Professional Lines business. He will oversee XLIB’s second-largest portfolio of business and a team of nine people. Mr. Loder joined XLIB as vice-president of underwriting, Professional Lines, in September 1999. His role involved underwriting of Employment Practices Liability, Directors and Officers Liability and Professional Liability, with a particular emphasis on Lawyer’s Errors and Omissions coverage. The role also included providing regional responsibility for underwriting matters in Professional Lines within XL Insurance’s Latin America region, including the Itau-XL joint venture in Brazil. |
